Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is also referred to as “cold laser” or low-level laser therapy [LLLT]. It is a technology proven to be remarkably safe, painless and effective in treating both acute injuries and chronic pain of various kinds. Like most therapeutic treatments, LLLT works effectively when employed alongside other treatment forms in our clinic.

The treatment entails the use of red and near-infrared light over various injuries.

Why You Need Our Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy accelerates your body’s own natural healing process through photo-bio-stimulation. Laser therapy is FDA approved and is a non-invasive technique to help reduce pain and inflammation.  Cold Laser therapy is effective in treating chronic conditions, acute conditions and postsurgical pain. If you are suffering from the following list of spinal conditions, cold laser can be helpful in reducing your pain.

List of Conditions that Cold Laser may help with:

  • Neck & Shoulder Pain
  • Herniated or Bulging Disc
  • Tingling or burning pain
  • Knee & Elbow Syndromes
  • Plantar Fascititis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Peripheal Neuropathy

At Curis Functional Health, we use laser therapy in conjunction with our other therapy to improve results and speed up recovery.

How Cold Laser Therapy Works

During this procedure, we use different wavelengths and outputs of low-level light applied directly to a targeted area. The patient’s body tissue then absorbs the light, and the red and near-infrared light causes a reaction, making the damaged cells respond with a physiological reaction that enhances regeneration.

What are the Benefits of Laser Therapy

Our patients experience the following effects after undertaking laser therapy:

  • Antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects
  • Improved blood viscosity
  • Reduction in blood vessel blockages
  • Stimulation of DNA repair mechanisms
  • Improved micro-circulation
  • Increased energy
  • Improved oxygen supply
  • Anti-allergic and analgesic effects

However, we do not perform laser therapy for the following individuals:

  • Laser therapy is not suitable if you had a recent surgery
  • It is not recommended in children
  • Laser therapy is not suitable in pregnant women

Laser therapy is a highly effective treatment for acute soft tissue injuries, chronic pain syndromes and slow healing wounds. Laser operations take shorter periods of time compared to traditional surgeries. You don’t have to spend a night in the hospital. When general anesthesia is applied, this is only employed for a short period of time.

With laser therapy, your healing is faster than in other surgical operations.
